Graham and Bob Allies founded the practice in 1984 and together they continue to retain responsibility for its design direction.

Graham Morrison trained at Cambridge University and won the Brancusi prize to travel to Finland and study the work of Alvar Aalto. He has lectured extensively both at home and abroad, has held a visiting professorship at Nottingham University and has been an External Examiner at Cambridge and Portsmouth Universities.

Graham Morrison has served as an RIBA Council member, been an adviser to the Cabinet Office and has judged a number of major competitions. He was a member of the Arts Council Lottery Architecture Committee, a Royal Fine Art Commissioner and a CABE Design Review panellist. He was a member of the London Advisory Committee to English Heritage and of Southwark’s Design Review Panel. He is currently a Commissioner of Historic England and a member of its Advisory Committee.
